a couple of weeks ago i was asking all you spearos about the Rob Allen and the Riffe MetalTech's, which gun to get, etc. well, after oprdering my RA, i cancelled my order and stopped by the Riffe's warehouse (i live really close to them) to speak with Julie (i also met Mr.Riffe!!!). she gave me a tour of the warehouse and answered all my questions. in the end i now feel better about my decsion. i am getting a MetalTech 3 Standard with the floater wing kit, reel w/1000 lb line and eclosed track. i am really excited and should get it in a week or so!!!!!!!!! so soon i sould have lots of stories and hopefully photos to share with you all you guys.

sounds great! can't wait to see some pics of your new gun & the fish you'll be catching :D

Good choice Sask !!!

If yours have the aluminum muzzle + reel, the floater will not float the MT3. Ask Riffe to make a bigger floater wing.

If you can, buy the 3/8 shaft, even with 4 x 9/16 bands, the power and accuracy is awesome even with Ice Pick. At 5 bands, you can use it as entry level blue water gun......YEP, honest. 6 meter deadly on a decent size tuna is not too much to ask.

Enjoy.............

Yeah, how about Julie, eh? :inlove

Hey, don't sweat getting all kinds of blue water stuff for your #3. A #3 is about the barest minimum I'd consider using out in the clear water, but for cruising around the fringes and into the kelp, you got dakine gun! A simple 5/16" threaded shaft with a cheapo JBL twin barb detachable, three 9/16 bands and a float line to help you find your rig after the inevitable ditch and you be sooooo smooth. Down the road, yeah you can look at more gun that gets used less.

Get a few of the thong clad locals to heat up the Weber and gimme a call! :p

Wish you good luck to you with your new gun. BTW is Julie back from Australia? When did you see her?

Julie got back from Australia a few weeks ago (2 or 3). i met up with her last week...umm, tuesday 21st. ya, she's a cutie.

iyadiver, i adressed the issue of the gun still being negative with the floater kit on it. they said they are making biggers ones that will support the metal tech's with reels. so when they make mine it should have the bigger kit on it.

i am not ready for bluwater just yet...this summer when the yellow fin start running (and i find someone with a boat...lol) i'll look to upgrade with more bands....or possibly by a bigger gun. they have "seconds" or used guns available, when people upgrade/sell guns...so maybe i'll get lucky and stumble across a used riffe Bluewater.

as far as the locals in thongs firing up the weber....summer is just around the corner and everyone who wants to come is invited!!!!!!!
