Hi evryone!!!! This is my first time in any forum!!!
I was looking for information in internet about spearfishing in Mozambique, and I came up with this site...
The truth is I'm not a 'real' spearo. I used to fish when I was a kid.
I'm more of a 'voyeur' right now, though I 'kill' when hungry...:t
But...my plan is to go from Maputo to Moz Island by the coast.
I carry a tent and cooking gear. I wonder if it is possible to spearfish for my food.
What about the sharks? The currents? Other dangers?
How can I get to Madagascar in a 'budget' way?
I would appreciate any tip on anythig...

Welcome from Texas! Someone here should be able to guide you. However, even though hunger and survival are powerful motivators, I'd learn how to snorkel well and basics of spearhunting BEFORE relying on them for meals!

I think that though spearfishing is fun and a great sport, angling, netting etc are more energy efficient methods of finding foot for your diet. Though some manage to earn a wage spearing big fish at depth for restaurants.

I think there are a couple of DB members living in Mozambique.
