i forgot to bring a scale or anything or measure it with :head. i used my shoe which is a foot long and estimated around 30". rough guess; 20-30lbs. made great fish tacos gave fish to almost everyone camping.
batray: we went camping in scorpion harbor on the east side of the island. its in a MPA so you have to kayak pretty far. if your on a boat i'd recommend not going where i was. i got lucky

Oops; saw "Santa Cruz" and didn't read "Island" after it. I'm going to head to that area this week. I thought there might be decent diving to be had there, but Monterey is a better bet.
