Hi divers, Is anyone near Savannah? I've been scuba diving since 2001, and when I first started I went out snorkeling with the abalone divers in Northern California. We did an old fashioned version of freediving: in those days divers were still hyperventilating to breathe up. Your buddy disappears as he descends and maybe comes up somewhere off behind some floating kelp. I wasn't much good at it, but now that there is so much more information, and I live near Florida, I'd like to start over, get better, and be safer! Most of all I'd like to find buddies!

Welcome to Deeperblue! We have had members from Georgia in the past. I recommend perusing the other Intro threads or checking out the USA/Canada subforum. You can also do a search using the forum's search bar. I strongly advise that you look into a freediving class. It's invaluable in terms of safety and progression in your training.

Glad you could join us.
