Hello! I was looking into buying a scuba tank and a regulator for my pool it's about 8 1/2 feet.I was wondering if that's safe to just buy the regulator and the tank we have a air compressor at our house. Anyways can I do this safety, what I'm trying to do is have it at the bottom of the pool every time I swim and be able to go to were it is and grab some air and continue to swim. One question is can I grab a breath and hold it in safely. How much will it cost.Is there anything besides a snorkel for this.

I'm no scuba diver, so I look forward to the answer as well.The problem with breathing compressed air at depth and holding your breath is that unless you're quite careful, you're at risk of lung overexpansion injuries.
2.5m already means an expansion of 25% if you go to the surface, which I think is enough to risk injury if you were to take a full breath at that depth and surface.

Hi Austin, to address your question, with a regulator and 'hookah' style hoses you can fabricate a system.
you will need a pressure setting that is powerful enough to send enough air to the mouthpiece.
However, if I may point out, you need to acknowledge the cautionary info that Sims stated.
If you don't understand that holding a lungful of compressed air and ascending from 8 ft. will rupture your lungs,
then take a S.C.U.B.A. class.
