Sea Angling for Spearos

Just got the above book yesterday. The book looks good, is of good size and has nice clear fonts and modern formatting, although couldn't help feeling the publisher had skimped a little on the (glossy) paper quality (I was fearful of tearing it) and the margins felt cramped (hardback would have been nice).

Great content though. Readers of Mikes on-line diaries will recognise many of the topics and some pictures but, being a book, the editing process has been used to condense & summarize the information from years of experiences - which is extremely helpful in "getting to the the bottom-line" as it were. Was a little surprised to find only one chapter dedicated to the bass but it really is good and summarizes the state of the art for UK sea fishing really. Lots of good information on his recent work with Texas-rigged, hybrid, weedless, softbaits. I've only skimmed the other sections/species but they look equally good with new insights into existing techniques, new techniques & optimizations to old techniques. Really, Mike & Steve Pitts have done decades of research & experimentation and published the results for us all to benefit from, to help us all catch more fish.

The book is crisp and focused - but if you want to read more about how they reached these "conclusions", by all means read Mike's on-line diaries for the last X-years (most of us do from time-to-time or regularly). But you'll save time by reading the book.
