The handle on the sea sniper guns, do they sell them outright? Its the only handle I like the look of and it doesnt look to bulky.

If you are particular about the shape and size of your handle, you might consider using Shapelock plastic on a Delrin or aluminum frame. When heated to about 150°F in hot water, it gets soft and can easily be molded to perfectly fit your hand. Then a dip in cold water, and it's as solid as nylon or any other similar plastic. Easy to dye, too, if you want a custom color. I buy it at www.shapelock.com. The 250g bag will do 2-3 handles, depending on the size.

I have made the frames out of both Delrin, and aluminum. This is what the Delrin frames look like, without the Shapelock applied:

And here are a few handles that I've done.

the frames, like the bottom one, is what im looking for. aluminum for counter weight.

they look great.

Try Neptonics Systems (www.neptonicsystems.com). They have aluminum handle frames. My aluminum frames, using 3/16" thick plate, only weigh about 3-4 oz, so don't count on them adding a lot of ballast.

Im looking for something a little different more like a actual 45 or 9mm handle.

The Wong handle is a copy of a 45 handle. If you want to add ballast, Daryl provides handle weights for guys who use scuba and want the gun to sink without the shaft in it. I don't scuba, but I've cut off small pieces of the weights to add just a little ballast to guns.

If you have the ability with your machine shop cut your own frame. You could just make it to pin into the stock rather than have a mounting plate. Nothing like your own custom handle.

I would if I could but for now I just use Josh's handles. He does have SS frames too but you have to special order them. Nice weight to them.

This is the other shape in Aluminum (too light)

I think the only real difference in the two handles other than the metal is the shape of the palmside corner. On the first one its a bit more square.

Ya i could but sometimes its easier when someone else already did work. cost vs time

hey jason, check out hamilton spearguns. i think his handles are the nicest i've seen. he uses hard rubber, cut on cnc machine, on top of aluminum frame. if you want the feel of a pistol handle , this would be the closest, since thats what they use for pistols,(hard rubber)

I know I seen those and I like, They dont show them priced so not sure they sell them have to check.

you dont have a cnc in your shop? maybe you could get the program made to cut them drawn up and punched into the computer then put on a disc, and you could take them or send them soewhere to be cut? especially in quantity. let me know if you figure something out, because i would love to have some too, and i would gladly share the cost of production, i have access to a cnc about an hour drive from my house, and i think i can get the appropriate rubber, i just dint know anyone who programs cnc software.

do you sell those delrin handles? or aluminum? if so, how much? i want some please! i use neptonics on the last 10 guns and i want some other options let me know

Tin Man nice way to make handle and easy process, but i have a question if the handle get heat up again after it is cooled in water is it going to be soft?

jtkwest - Yes, I sell the handles. I have one of the delrin frames left for $55 (bare) or $65 with the Shapelock applied. I also have one of the aluminum frames left for $45 (bare) or $55 with the Shapelock applied. Those prices include Priority Mail shipping in the U.S.

Salehthefish - The Shapelock can be re-worked over and over again. I have never had a problem with it softening in the sun on my aluminum boat (which can get very hot), but if you leave it in a very hot trunk of a car, or something similar, it can get soft.

Here's another that I just finished.

Very nice Tinman. You make it so easy for a home DIY speargun builder and cameramen. I wish you were around when I was first building guns.
Cheers. Don

Im right in the middle of going cnc, I CAD up the projects then use a code writer to which it to G-code, its really no brainer on that part.
