Sea sniper handle?

Heres a something I have been working on. ill take any feedback good or bad.

are those the side pieces? if so, they should be shaped a little, no? the rest i like, why dont you just make me one out of aluminum, and i will make some wood side pieces to go with it, i would love to have one for one of my 5 guns i am making now

well this is a 9mm look alike, Im working on a more shapely one also. the two pieces to the left are the grip plates, most likely wood. but i can carve the handle out of any material. it can be one big wood handle, this is just the draw up. might be a bit before i can cnc it out. my machine is 4 weeks out. but ill try a school machining one out on the big grizzly mill. Im on the road for the week so be a little while.JasonPosted via Mobile Device

the other thing is the cut outs in the middle??? might cause air pocket or it will need to be filled, or not have them at all and go from 1/2" to 3/16 thickness.?.then you have plenty of room for personal shaping. what you think. ?Posted via Mobile Device

Are the two screw holes positioned to accept standard 9mm pistol grips?

As another variant, what about making a handle that duplicated one of the common pistol frames, and would accept the standard wood or rubber pistol grips?

The first pic below shows the Smith & Wesson frames and their relative sizes. Smaller is probably better, since most spearos would be shooting with gloves of one sort or another. There are a huge variety of grips available for the Smith & Wesson J-frame, for example. Everything from beautiful wood, to bone, to tactical rubber. Lots of possibilities . . .

i thought about that but the frame on this one would have been a 1 inch wide, grip plates on this 9mm are really thin and small. and dont want to step on any big company toes. but i may look into it, this is the first one so i was wanting feed back before i do a bunch of hours making templates, and before the research. i myself like a straight handle no finger contours.revolvers on the other hand are very possible.I was want to do a "9mm semi auto like" handle.JasonPosted via Mobile Device

I think that maybe it is too large. the frame should be 1/8" or 3/16" max thick. that way a relatively slim handle can ve used , i agree with that.

Ok, after a little research making the gun handle able to accept production gun grips would not work. For the people that wear gloves the handles would be way to small and difficult to hold. I tested out about 5 common guns from a 38 special up to a 44mag and had my 5mm glove on and it was really hard to hold any of them. MAYBE just maybe you could get away with a shotgun pistol grip but it was really close. Come to think of it whenever I went shooting I never would wear gloves for that reason. The pinky finger would not stay on the handle comfortably. So with that Im opting out of doing any revolver type layout. The semi-autos I could grip comfortably. Im guessng thats why we havent seen any in production and if they look like it they were custom shaped for gloves.
Remember that the semi auto has the clip in the handle so thats why the grip plates are so small.
