Good spearing spots are very hard to find and those in the know keep it quiet! This goes for bass, scallop and bream spots specifically but any good spot really.
Its actually very naive and a little rude to outright ask for a bass spot. Quite likely the person that has the spot has invested heavily in time and resources (maybe months worth of exploring nautical maps and taking test dives). To outright ask for the spot is blatently saying I don't respect or appreciate your hard work and I'm only looking for a quick fix.
So what happens? Most often you will not get an answer for 2 reasons... 1) it is actually better for you to learn and find these spots your self, it will make you a better spearo.
2) If you are asking openly on a forum you are unknown and who knows who you will tell if you got the location.
Now this does not mean experienced spearo's are mean and secretive with their spots...quite the opposite in fact... I've not known a single one that wouldn't share a spot with me... but you need to put in the effort first before you reap rewards...
Advice... try to help the experienced spearo... bring somthing of value to the table and you'll get a lot more in return...
Spearo's cannot cover 100% of the coast so read up and find out what area are not being dived by spearo's. Go out, take a few dives, explore, don't be afraid to blank... and bring that experience to the table and you'll find other spearo's more forthcoming.
Once you're better known and trusted there will be no problem again with secretive spots
