Please help me!!!

During my training session in a pool i was doing a dynamic with fins and after some time i felt wery sharp pain all around my left eye. I don't think it is becouse equalisation becouse the pool is 3m deep and i always equlise. Sorry for my spelling.

So I'm very disturbet what that might mean. Also I was hoping to go diving in a week or so near Dubrovnik, Croatia but now i don't know. HELP :duh

Are you using a mask or goggles?

3m could be enough to create some pain if you got some stuffed sinus, in that case equalization won't always work...

i've experienced this once. it's not very common - i don't know many people who have had it. i don't know exactly what causes it but there must be some pressure differentials building up around the eye, due to some form of mucous blockage. don't aggravate it by diving. it will probably clear itself with time.

It could be caused by pressure from the mask/goggles or sinus squeeze.

I once had a sharp pain caused by sinus squeeze in a pool which was only 2 metres deep. It happened because I had blocked sinuses on the day. I ignored the pain, which was quite intense, and continued diving for about 1 1/2 hours. Afterwards there was blood coming from my mouth. I won't do that again! :blackeye

the ethmoidal sinus are localised between the eyes.
I suppose one of them was the cause of your pain.

I sometimes have (very rarely) some pain in my right frontal sinus (2-3cm above the left eye).

Some people I know have problems with their maxillary sinus (under the eye).

There is a fourth sinus(sphenoidal sinus), and I guess it should cause pain behind (and a bit above) the nose (?)

Could have been a head ache from hight co2, or a sinus squeeze which can happen at reallly really shallow depths.

Yep, sounds like sinus squeeze.
You where lucky you had it in a pool. I experienced that sudden pain at 20 meters. Verry unpleasent when the pain increases the more you ascent.

Takes a week or two to heal. You should not go diving for atleast 7 days... the faster it heals.

Good luck,
Sascha

Thanx a lot to all of you. You were a big help. Good to know some thing about those sinusses. :). Seemes to me that there is no more diving for me this year :)

Merry Chrismass to everyone
