Hi everyone!
I'm new to the freediving community, and im mostly here as an inventor/monofin enthusiast. Im building a prototype for a new kind of monofin as a hobby project/possible craft I might sell. Im wondering what kind of shore hardness the rubber components on an average, high level, free-diving fin is. I've elected for 1mm thick carbon fiber plating/sheeting as the main fin, petg for the supporting structure, and tpu as the soft plastic to cover the petg. I've been looking for an answer to this question for several months and google has been little help, although i did get a vague response once quoted as being "around A80".

Any help would be appreciated!
Thank you!

If it's a DIY monofin you are working on, have a look at this video:

Despite being in Russian and with terrible subtitle translations, this is actually super helpful and exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!
I thought you might appreciate it! :))
I am working on a DIY monofin project myself and this video has been recommended by a friend. It is by far the best video you can find online.

Just to sum up the video for this thread, the author is using:
- 8mm microporous rubber
- glue is industrial grade SC-2000
As for myself, I am thinking of using:
- 8 mm solid EPDM rubber sheet
- for the adhesive: JB Weld PlasticBonder + a layer of tire glue (toughened CA)
