Solo 25m pool lengths underwater?

It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Even the ban underwater swimming people at SWBP.org say 25m is safe.

Only Dr. Griffiths is out there enough to say it’s all unsafe and many more people have hidden triggers that somehow don’t show up in the autopsy. Very fringe position but it’s taken over our pools.

most all of this hysteria is coming from the religious right of which all of these people are members

they have some weird religious phobia about breath holding, also part of me says this is really about swimsuits but that doesn’t set off alarms anymore so they moved straight to drowning

Nevertheless, even before the hysteria I was told never to swim alone period. I just think the risk of bo is minimal for someone in actual physical fitness which is rare in America, so it shouldn’t require outright spotting.

If you want to get technical.. there's 0% chance of having shallow water blackout even if you're doing 300m dyn in the pool.
This is why I don’t like the term ‘shallow water blackout’. ‘Ascent induced blackout’ is much more technically correct.

If the OP blacked out on their 25m laps, in their pool, that’s a blackout in shallow water, but not a SWB... it’s just confusing verbiage.
