Starting courses at end of September, hope to have all finished, including open water dives by 2nd week in October. I am taking the accelerated course consisting of 2 1/2 days (classroom & confined water) over one weekend, and 2 days (open water) over another weekend.

Looking forward to getting some good advice on equipment and great dive sites local to southern Michigan.

Freedive or SCUBA mate? I've done both and they're brilliant. Good luck and welcome in. There are plenty of people around that area to help you out, search the location forums and have fun!
