I dived the Breakwater yesterday with my kayak to try and haul some adandoned crab pots up but got side tracked with those pesky scallops and even managed to grab a brown crab out of a hole.
I dived the breakwater with KILLIEN this morning which was cool, water temp was around 9c a blustery wind made it a bit rough at times but still managed 15 scallops.
Killien if you want to hook up again sometime we can do the end of the breakwater for some pollack as soon as they come in.
I was going to buy one these hooks the divers use to pull the crabs out of holes today but they seem a little over priced at around £15 so I reckon an old spear shaft will do the trick anyone have any other ideas for a homemade lobster hook?
Trago sounds even better than LidlsTry buying a cheap rod rest from Trago. Very cheap. Bend the end round and it will last for years. doesn't rust. Cheap and cheerful.
Maybe we could market it???
Good luck.
Hi All
Can anyone suggest a good mask to invest in? I think something with a mirrored lense as i feel i have often spooked fish when they have seen my eyes.

Mirrored lenses are great in gin-clear water but in average UK viz conditions they aren't so great as they make everything 'darker'. Masks are a very personal choice because the only thing that really matters is how they 'sit' on your face; we all have different facial dimensions so trying them on first is a godsend. Not easy in UK because you can't walk into loads of spearo shops to try. See if you can borrow a mask from a mate, ideally you should be able to hold mask to face and breathe in through your nose to suck mask in; if it stays put without you holding it and no straps then you have a watertight seal which is what you want.
