Thanks for showing me around the boats. Hopefully we will be able to get in with a spear soon.
I know it's a bit off topic, but does anyone know of an Orkney Longliner or similar for sale? I am looking to get sorted with a boat for those periods when diving is out of the question.

Went in this morning with shiny1 had another nice mixed bag of bass and mullet. Vis was a bit milky today at times, i think the algae bloom could be on its way. Pic below (Its a new camera, still trying to work out how to set the date.)

Took shiny1 and the girlfriend out on the new boat yesterday for a bit of a jolly. Shiny got in the water while i cruised around and tried a few things out, i thought he was only going to be an hour or so in the water. Three hours later he turns up!! haha he had me flapping big time, i even had a few blokes in kayaks keeping an eye out for him. However he did turn up with a nice bag of fish.

Been reading another thread and BEER has been mentioned as a Devon location worth a look. Its closer to me than Torbay but does anyone know about the place? Spaniard, Saw you've had a catch from there before. Anyone??????????????????

And just how does one while away three hours on a boat with someone else's g/f :inlove:rcard

redid my broken bungee and thought of a way to stop the snapping feeling again. thread the line through the side wall of the rubber then spiral it round and punch it back through to the lumen agin at the other end. looks a bit like a barbers pole but work and no more breakages.

Doc are you using a omer shock bungee? if so there should be a hole at both ends and the way you have described is spot on. thru one hole a few wraps around and then thru the other. cheap and cheerful




Anyone been in around the bay. I got in Friday but as reported is was no good.

Cheers sounds like James T might be the man, i've spoken to him on several occasiond but never met him. Beer is now on the hit list. What the parking situation like there?

By the by, went in tonight and could hardly see the nose on my face!!! saw one mullet but out of range for my little 50 gun.

I had a spur of the moment yak dive today, went to a spot Ive had my eye on for a while and man am I glad I did.

Saw loads of bass but left them alone as it was pollack I was after. paddled out to a rocky outcrop with a 10 meter drop off on the one side. Viz was around 7 meters on the sandy patches and around 3 in the kelp

bagged a 2lb pollack out of the kelp followed by a 3lb. then had to swim back to my yak as a crab boat was radioing it in as lost . Kind Of nice to think that people still care.

Swam around for another 2 hours until I went deeper and bagged the 5lb pollack at the bottom of the ridge WELL STOKED then bumped into a massive salmon must have been in the double figures easy.

I think the rules imply Shiny will have to make that choice? I will check it out but whatever fantastic catch!
