Had to happen sometime I suppose. Love the wording - harpoon gun sounds much more impressive than speargun. Perhaps he was trying to catch a whale?

Its like having the Father I never knew Podge lol.
Decided to have a go for an hour this evening and when I arrived there was already a spearo out there. Decided to get in as I was there but nothing happening, very little seen :-( I saw one bass and shot one mullet.
I met the other spearo when I got out. It was going to the coast. He had a mullet also. We had a good chat and got very cold getting changed.

stunning fish Shiny . A bass of dreams 
Dived this morning with good viz, lots of fish. Searched a big sand patch and found this plump flounder hiding in the sand alongside a rocky outcrop. checked the gullys for a big bass but nothing so had to do with the flounder

Hi All,
Managed a dip this evening and saw plenty of fish. Problem was they were all brown not silver. Many wrasse topping 6lb easily and decent pollack. Only one bass seen passing at high speed and a single mullet shoal passing high above. Shore dive and the tide was ripping at a rate of knots so couldn't get to my normal boat spots and that was the difference. 200 yards further out and I reckon the fish would have been there. viz 6-8 m in places.

I've just got back in from a scallop dive near Plymouth. Twenty eight in total between us, a nice Rapala plug and a handful of weights. My buddy also got a fine pair of lobster claws after the original owner decided to cut and run.
Not too bad in the water at 14 deg, but the windchill when we got out was a good reminder that its nearly November. It was dark at 18:45!
I only saw one decent fish, and that was a nice fat plaice that I nearly dropped the float shotline on. I just wasn't quick enough to stab it.

Dived today after work, got in just after 5 and made my way over to a big sand patch close to the outer reef. the swell was small and the sand was still, perfect for finding the flatties.
Followed the out sides of the sand patch and soon started seeing the flatties as they were coming out of hiding and onto the feed. speared a few nice size flounder and then came across these 2 plump kites hiding on the edge under the kelp Both 2lb 5oz and about 4 meters from each other. Got out just before dark , didnt see any bass although they could of been circling me the whole time but I was in flounder mode so who knows roflrofl
Water was a tropical 14c and the viz was a jaw dropping 11 meters Happy days

The viz was good, upto 7 meters in places. We were in search of some old wreckage and with the kelp dying back we soon found parts of old boilers and other wreackage scattered around the reef and sand.
With Dan in Camera mode I swam off to check under the ledges for hiding mullet and lobsters, lots of fish seen but no lobsters :head big shoals of 1lb size pollack were shoaling around the sand patches and plenty of small mullet hiding under the ledges with the wrasse. saw 1 meaty size mullet that zoomed past while I was checking a hole and bumped into a shoal of small bass on the way out. The bass stayed with us for a good 15 minutes before swiming off.
Nothing taken today but it has to be one the most enjoyable dives Ive had this season. good company, good viz and lots of fish

Great pics mate.
Lovely atmospheric quality about them (if such a thing can exist under water?).
Makes me want to jump in right now.
