I've just got back from a paddle in the kayak around Plymouth. The viz is much improved close inshore, so will be worth a dive very soon. I didn't take the speargun this time, just a handline, but came home with 10 fat Mackerel.

Good dive today, took a few good spider crab for a BBQ party this afternoon. Biggest was a lovely 5lb 9oz spider crab. Picture below...!

Viz was not good until you got 3-4m down so no fish taken...

Is this worth entering FOM with?

Hi guys

Has anyone ventured in??
Went in last thursday south hams way but it was shocking.

Matt sent you a PM if you get a mo, hoping you might let me in on where the viz was. I certainly didn't find it!!

Anyone got any thoughts NW forecast for Sat, wondered if this might help viz Thurlestone way. Worried about all the slit washing down the Avon into Batham bay.

Anyway keep the faith

We had about 5m off viz on the James Egan Layne earlier this week. There were some big bass and pollock down in the holds, but we were on scuba so they just swam on by, annoyingly close.

In case it is of any help to any one :

I have just the strap/curved arm part of an omer mini laser knife in my posession. (new) If anyone has damaged their strap/curved bit and is after a replacement without buying a complete knife drop me a PM to discuss

Oh and can someone please fix the weather,

very handy to have. i managed to lose one knife before, tried finding it a day later with no success. so bought another one. broke the strap but luckily kept the old strap. and being popular knifes im sure someone will snap it up

Hello Gents, I have just got back from my first dive in 2012, thats the good news. The bad news is I lost a MONSTER cuttlefish which got of the spear :waterwork the first I've seen in Torbay, aswell as quite a nice spider crab which I saw when surfacing but couldn't find again, but at least we know they're out there. so if anyone sees a cuttle with a spearshaped hole in it give me a shout:D safe diving and happy spearing in 2012.

In yesterday at Thurlestone viz 2m max worse in places, brought home 3 nice size spiders. Guys when you BBQ claws & legs do you discard the body or do you boil it up? I know they're very intricate & time consuming but wondered what you guys do.

Met a couple of guys yesterday coming out the water, nice to meet you.

Moved onto the next mark viz less than gun length, surrounded by 50+ bass but all around 1lb mark. Frustrating as too small to spear but nice to know they're arriving in numbers. Not sure who was more shocked as they literally swam into me!!

Any way guys info on spiders if you please.
