was wondering if anyone has any unto date information about spear fishing in Mexico. I will be traveling from Progresso to Tulum.

Was just spearfishing off a kayak in mahahaul, a small fishing town about an hour south of tulum. That's where you want to go, as tulum isn't setup for much fishing. I Saw barracuda, parrot fish, decent trigger fish and lobster. Laws are pretty relaxed as long as you stay clear of tourist beaches. I heard Maya Beach Garden does good spearfishing tours, but honestly I just rented a kayak and went without a guide. Very cheap, friendly people, great fishing.
