Hi All

I new at the forum but have been reading some value posts from all of you.

I have been trying to get the maximum information regarding laws, rules related with spearfishing in Dubai and UAE and it's not easy.

Does someone has recent information's about this?

2 weeks ago Dubai Municipality asked some stores (at least in Dubai) to stop selling the spearfishing guns. The store staff mention that you still can do the spearfishing but they cannot sell the guns.

All the info will be appreciated. I'm new also on the sport and I'm enjoying it but don't want to have all the authorities stress when doing it.

Regards

Hi Buddy... Well for the rules this thread was opened before http://forums.deeperblue.com/united-arab-emirates/75935-spearfishing-legislation-uae.html Please check it but for my information guns are still sold, and maybe it is not allowed for that particular shop i am not sure but many shops like Al Sammak Al Ghawas Alkhor shop all 100% can sell in addition to many other shops also in Ab Dahbi you can find teh Hayari sub who sells guns normal and wooden customized... Also last time we went off the port the inspector saw the guns with me and asked me if i use scuba along with them and i said no then he simply allow me to go...But still it is better to do this sport with awareness... All best

hi guys... any news on legislation?
there were no answers since long time.
i am moving to the uae in couple of months.... can i bring me spearguns with me?
any feedback is highly appreciated.
thx in advance!

Hi Pato and your most welcome in UAE for bringing your speargun many people made it through the customs but it is not a 100% sure it will pass (Keep your gun in a bag and you may write on the bag diving equipment) for spearfishing as mentioned no clear rule about it but what i am sure about is to hide your speargun all time and everything will b fine except in ABU DAHBI if you get caught you will b in trouble while in DUBAI i am 100% sure it is allowed and the cost gaurds they saw me with spearguns in the port and they let me to take them after knowing that i will not Scuba spearfish for other areas you can do it but you have to hide your gun...

All best

Hey,

does anyone know if you need a license to spear fish in dubai? I spoke to this local on the beach a few days ago who was apart of the municipality, he told me that i should get a free diving license in order to SF, other wise if i get caught i will get a big fine ?? If i need the license, does any one know where i can get it??
