You'll be just there for the start of Songkran water-festival. So get Yourself a water-gun as soon as Your here!
I have been teaching freediving here on Koh Lanta for the last half year, and will be taking off to the Perhentian Islands in about a week's time. Just give me a call (+66 817 925 894)* or just come over and we can set You up with accommodation and transport and such. Not sure what's happening on Koh Tao, but if You want to learn how to scuba dive, I'd recommend staying away from that island, as the instruction there has the worst reputation I have ever encountered.
