I would really like to know too. I am thinking about trying out this sport in the gentle surf of a large bay near that area. I want to buy a JBL BlueWater Speargun. What do you think about that equipment? Great photos and fish by the way.

I was wondering what do you think about my chances of finding fish in the clear water surf, like 10-15ft. In Louisiana, where I used to fish with a rod and reel in the surf there would be excellent fish in less than 10ft when the water was clear. But, never as clear as down here. I don't know if I will see fish out there or if they will see me and not give me a chance to get close enough. Maybe I need some of the ocean cammo stuff. I know for a fact that they catch snook, curvina, yellowtail, redfish, and pompano around here. But, I don't know about right out in the sandybottom surf. I was thinking about hunting around sandbars. You see I don't have a boat and there are no rocks or coral as far as I can tell where I can fish. Any advise you could share would be greatly appreciated. I would like to make the move away from rod and reel to spearfishing since the water is so clear. Happy fishing.
