Just recevied an email from Mr. Firmin, the Acting Park Manager at Rifle State Park Complex re statewide spearfishing regs, which are:

1. You do need a valid fishing license (no additional endorsements are required).

2. There are species and size restrictions (bag and possession limit for walleye is 3 fish only one of which may be above 18 inches...minimum size for small mouth bass is 15 inches and bag and possession limit is two fish). Harvey Gap has a restriction on catfish (2 fish) and a minimum size for bass (15 inches).

3. CO2 or cartridge powered guns are prohibited.

4. Guns must be loaded and unloaded while diver is submerged.

5. Divers must stay within 100' radius of a float bearing the National Divers' symbol.

6. Spears must be attached to a safety line (maximum length 10')

7. Can not be used to take bull frogs.

NO BULL FROGS??!! Sheesh!
