Spearfishing in Phuket

Going to Phuket end of November.
Wondering the most budget friendly way to rent/buy a speargun while there and do some spearing. I have heard Kata or Naiharn beach are good for shore diving. I'm curious if anyone knows someone I can contact in the area who I could buy a gun from or even go spearing with. Are there locals who may take me out on a boat?

I have been spearfishing in Phuket; I brought my own gun and rented a motorcycle and traveled the island looking for good shore dive spots to spear.
