Hello, I'll be visiting Belize again at the end of this month and am looking for any diving/spearfishing buddies in the area. I live on the Sonoma Coast here in California USA and we mainly hunt Lingcod, Cabezon and Rockfish. I'll be bringing my 2 Band AB Biller (32in) with me, albeit it may be a bit short (it was in Ambergris Caye last year). I'm an avid diver, SCUBA certified and will be in the water for the majority of my vacation! Anyone interested in hooking up?:D

I used to hunt fish down around Placencia 7 -10 years ago.
There are a lot of small cayes and submerged reef patches that have hogfish, snapper and grouper.
You should be able to charter a local guide to take you out. Go to Moho Caye and work your way north along that inner reef to Crawl Caye
Or you could get out to the reef but that's about 20 miles from Placencia.
I'm up near Dangriga and it's about 30 plus miles from there.
A 32 inch gun is pretty short for here...unless you're really good and get close to the fish. We usually have 60 foot plus...up to 100 plus vis.
Best way to hunt here is get down to the bottom and wait. They will come.
And you do realize that's it's illegal to spear on scuba here? Have fun.
