Spearfishing in Portland area

I guys,next sunday I would like to go spearfishing in Portland area.There is anyone could give me some raccomandation about:
1)Where to go.
2)Around what time is better and morning or evening.
3)What about tides?Are tides important in this area?

Please don't think of spearing off Portland unless your with a partner who knows it well, because the tides can be treacherous.

Better to start in Portland Harbour or east of Weymouth maybe Redcliff, Osmington or Ringstead..

Chesil Cove should be starting to look a bit more fishy you could try there.
But look out for the tides and for scuba boys.
