Spearfishing in Portugal (beginner)

Hi folks,

I'm a beginner spearo -- just got a first full day in last weekend in Bretagne.

I'm planning on visiting Portugal with my wife June 6th to 10th (next month).

I would prefer not to go spearfishing on my own for obvious reasons, but I absolutely want to go.

(1) Am I better off going to the Lisbon area (was thinking Peniche), or the south (Sangrias)? Also open to any other destination (can't make it to the Azores).

(2) Are any of you folks in Portugal and would like to go together?

(3) Are there charter services for spearfishing?

(4) I should have most of the equipment by then, but are there rental places anywhere in Portugal?

Appreciate any advice I can get.

I’ll be there first 2 weeks of September split between cascais and aljezur. Those dates don’t help you perhaps but if anyone will be around in Sept Id love to find a dive buddy as well.

I’m a beginner but have taken basic freediving and spearing courses.
