I'm not sure - been a while since i've pulled the speargun out. Why don't you try the forum at Spearfishing & Speargun Online Megastore | Adreno Spearfishing Supplies , they are a lot more SE Queensland focussed, there's tons of divers on the forum from the Gold Coast, Tweed & Bris that dive down there. Keep in mind that Kingscliff is in NSW so you'll need your NSW fishing license to spear anywhere. There's also green zones but i'm not sure where.
