YOWSER!!! :crutch

good advice bara as so many guys are wayyy overweighted.

yep if ur overweighted ok u will sink like a rock and save alot of oxygen but you risk blackout because you will have to work VERY hard to get back to the surface ...

the perfect weight is a weight that makes you neutrally buoyant to 10-15 feet and negetivly buoyant under 15 feet .. so under 15 feet you should be able to decend slowly without finning

i use dynema wishbones there safer , never slip , and silent

Hmm i will have to keep an eye out for that wishbone do you know of any shops in Dubai that sell them? cheers
after i killed my finger i went back into the water of course thats my commitment to my m8s i was looking on the nat and saw you can get darcon wishbones that usually can hold up to about 1000lbs for a string..that is pretty damn good!

going spearfishing tomorrow at the same place where we hauled in the cuda and trevali we created a device that will hold some chum and slowly release it so should tempt the cuda, emperor fish and trevali we hope, ill take some pics of the fish we catch (if any)
have a good weekend guys keep posting

Emperor fish? which one is that, not Angel Emperor surely?

Yeah sherry fish lol not angel but i went and the waves were MASSIVE! coming right over break water so we went to rod fishing and caught 4 nice black tail cuda, so they are out there just need the right conditions.. how were your weekends?

Haha lol its gonna be my lat week spearfishing this friday then i have an exam the next 1 very scared! i hope it will be the last and the best of them all!!!

We had an AMAZING weekend's spearfishing! first off, the visiblilty was about 30m+ in the morning, we caught an abundance of decent fish like sargent. majors, trevali, drum fish, rabbit fish and last of all but CERTAINLY not least.. a beauty of a hamour! we reckon it weighed about 4 and a half kilos at the very least! it was a real beuty. we also saw a huge queenfish but decided aginst shooting it incase we drowned (this thing was just under a metre long). hope you all had great weekends! i certainly did!

here is the picture of us lads with the beefy hamour that we shot

Thanks! we shot it on the breakwater at corniche! a very strange a fluke place to see a hamour that big. we saw another smaller one with it but when we dived back down it was gone. still, a great fish!

hey Sara, quick question, i am looking to get some new fins and want some that are free diving.. that i will also use for diving so where and what should i get.. there were some Cressi-Sub 1's that were long black free diving 1's i was looking at them.. any advice?
thanks

Jonny check out Al Sammak, in the Al Twar Centre (Al Nahda Road, Guhsais/Al Twar area). Go in the direction of Airport Terminal 2 and go straight past, Al Twar Centre is on the left close to the fire brigade. They sell loads of spearfishing gear and fins.

I know the guys here use Omers, Picassos, Cressis,... Nadim has some Picasso's in stock, ask him as well.
