Thought I'd share my spearfishing diary from December 2008, with a few pictures thrown in. All this spearing done in India, all breath-holding, using a Seac sub asso 65 pneumatic gun. Sometimes with spear tethered to the gun, sometimes spear tethered to a float.

Tuesday 2/12/8, caught in the tidal reaches of an Indian River, Goa state 2 Mangrove jack snapper 1.5kg each

Wednesday 3/12/8, caught in the tidal reaches of an Indian River.
Barramundi 2.3kg, Barramundi 2.6kg, Barramundi 4.8kg, Barramundi 2.9kg,

Thursday 4/12/8 caught in the tidal reaches of an Indian River.

Friday 5/12/8 Reef 4-5 km of the coast of Maharashtra state
Mangrove Jack 4.0kg, Mangrove Jack 2.3kg, Mangrove Jack 1.7kg,

Saturday 6/12/8 caught in the tidal reaches of an Indian River.
Barramundi 5.4kg, Mangrove Jack 1.3kg,

Sunday 7/12/8 River
Picnic sea bream 1.5kg

Monday 8/12/8 River
Barramundi 1.6kg, small snapper and bream

Tuesday 9/12/8 Day off

Wednesday 10/12/8 River No catch

Thursday 11/12/8 River No catch
Spent a long time retreiving a spear that got stuck in a massive ball of fishing net, deep in a fast flowing part of the river.

Friday 12/12/8 Cliffs along the coast of Maharashtra state
Barramundi 11.0kg, Barramundi 3.3kg. A large shoal of big mangrove snapper and barramundi swam past, I caught the smaller barra, got it to the boat, then went back to same spot, the shoal were still there, the viz was about 1.5 metres, I shot at a ghostly shadow (guessing barramundi) and ended up cleanly spearing an 11kg fish. The big barra then went for a swim around and around a huge rock, some way down, took me about 15 minutes to un-ravel him, when I finally got hold of him and took him to the boat I came to realise how close I'd come to loosing him. The spear was tethered with 3mm mountaineering braided line, which he'd almost cut through on the rock.

Regards to the spearo community out there, David, UK
