Hello all,

I'm having trouble finding Sphera sources online that will ship to my side of the world. Anyone know any sources? Would really like to get a few.

Cheers

hey salibandy

your gonna find it pretty difficult as they are out of production and were never particularly popular on our side of the planet....

mind you i did manage to find one of my dealers that had a couple collecting dust at the back of a cupboard so snapped them up. only thing i can think of is trying to get a hold of the Technisub distributor in Singapore and see if they have any stock at one of their retailers.

Good Luck

DD

Hi Salibandy,

Get on eBay. They're still coming up for sale there, often at very good prices.

Steve

Hey Salibandy,

Google Sphera Mask - I'm still seeing them - in fact I found someplace in the states selling them with a snork for under $30 us.

Dear Fondueset:

Please share your source! I have spent hours on the internet looking for Sphera masks. While tons of links come up, none that I have called have them in stock...

In particular, I am looking for the black... For whatever reason, I prefer scuba diving with a clear skirt and freediving with a black one... I think it has something to do with the optics of the Sphera lens.

Thanks!

Hi Pre BC,

I just googled it and got mine from amazon.com - back then they had black and they were about $28 us. Now all I see are clear and they are $39.

Thank you CubApnea and FondueSet!

It is really too bad I missed the $28 dollar deal for the black Sphera on Amazon... I would have bought a boat load (Ok, maybe 3 :)).

I will call Austins in the morning to make sure they have them in stock. Thank you for the tip... I can't believe I didn't find Austins when I checked Google over and over and over again... It was just lost in the clutter of all the big store listings that didn't have them in stock.

Interestingly, when I searched Live.com both Austins in Miami and Pro Dive in Fort Lauderdale came up as having the Sphera in black(http://prodiveusa.eveonlinepro.com/Shop/Product/Sphera-Black-Skirt-Frame-220531/ProductDetails.aspx). Apparently all the new black Sphera masks in the US now live in South Florida! Strangely when I searched Yahoo.com one of them came up when I included the brand (Aqua Sphere) and the other came up when I omitted it.

I have to admit that I have become so dependent on Google that it never occured to me until today to check Yahoo or Live. Rather than beating my head against the wall the next time Googling doesn't work, I need to remind myself that there actually are other search engines that work...

Thank you again for helping me find what I needed!

P

yep... last time i visited austin's they had the black sphera in a rack along many others , they have way more goods than what they show at their web site... in case they can't help you go to ...

www.scubasworld.com

call them , ask for ulises... they might be able to have it for a good price
cheers and enjoy ur sphera mask!!

FWIW, about 6 months ago I was looking at the Amazon site, tried to order the Sphera at their listed $28 price, and got an email back that "the price had gone up to $38.95, and did I still want to buy one?"

I looked elsewhere & ended up getting 2 of the black Spheras from a place called Swim2000.com instead (for $29.95 :) ) but I just had a look at the site and saw that the Spheras are sold out . . . Oh well, I guess as the remaining supply shrinks everybody will have to pony up more money, and put up with the clear ones.

Keep checking eBay too- they keep appearing there from time to time.

Steve

PS- just had a look at eBay, and the only fellow with Spheras for sale was asking £35! I guess the old law of supply & demand is at work.

Steve:

Thank you for the leads... I found the black Sphera on ebay after you suggested looking there. I am curious, is Craigs list also a good source for scuba/freediving gear?

Salibandi:

Did you ever find what you needed? If not, how difficult is it to ship to Singapore from the US? If it would help (and you could tell us how to do it), one of us could pick up a few for you and ship them. The cost would be pretty steep... In addition to reimbursement of costs, you would have to promise a free tour of your beautiful city when and if we ever make it over there!!!

P

Just a quick update.. I have spoken to Aqualung about Sphera masks and they have stock again. I will be importing some to Taiwan so if you're in Asia, maybe I can help.

Oh yes please! I would love to get some.

Do PM me and let me know the costs.

Salibandy - I just recently ordered a couple from ProDive here in the US, and the shipped it to me here in California very quickly.

Hopefully you can get one from a store or person closer to you but if not, ProDive is a good last resort.

cheers,

kp

Aqualung will keep production of the same black model but there may be a new blue and orange model, but not certain when and how long they will produce those. But black will stay in production for the foreseable future.

Salibandy, I will pm you in a sec.

Hope the price comes down. 60us is a tad steep for a mask that usually falls apart within a year or two.

On the prodive site you can get a 10 pack for around $399us - I paid 28us each for the five I bought when I thought they were being discontinued - hopefully they'll last me awhile :)
