Hi Team.
I am trying to find a downloadable copy of AIDAs guide lines for safety procedures (particularly for the pool disciplines) at competitions if there is such a document.
I am training with a group of friends that I care a lot about. I think we do a good job of looking after each other with procedures that we have pretty much made up our selves. I had a meeting with the managers of the pool we are using to talk about what we do to spot each other and make suggestions for their life guard training. I am keen to compare the spotting techniques we use with what is used at competitions.
Freediveing as a sport is in its infancy here in New Zealand and our safety regulations at pools are... well ...rather dangerous. Having to have the person with life guard training out of the pool while watching. Not much good for some one doing an Exhale static while at the bottom of a 5m dive well.
The pool staff recognise this and are keen to hear what the international community of Freedivers has come up with for taking care of each other. This may help them influence their safety regulatory body.
I have tried to find a document on the USA and International AIDA sites but come up blank.
Can any one help with this?
Thanks.
Jas.
