Hi,

My teammate (HBalázs) is switching to stereofins (C4) in DYF, and looking for good videos showing the technique of swimming with them.
We only saw the video of Panos Lianos (141m) and the half of the Stephane Mifsud video (~172m, was on freediver.co.uk, but it is not working, not online?!). Are there any other long swims this style? Hope so. :)

Also, could you tell about the experiencies, which kind of C4 blades are good for dynamics?

thanks,
Jee

hi

I posted a similar thread today about this, however the 2 video clips you mentioned are the only ones ive see with bi fins as well. Im not sure if their are any clips of sietas or stepanek doing long dynamics.

I believe Mifsud uses C4 80's, stepanek used the blue softer version of the omer millnieum comp plastic fins. And Tom sietas uses C4 40's.

Do you know what fins Panos was using, they kinda look like black matrix fins ?

cheers

Hi Ivan

I asked Mifsud about his 'recordfin' in mail, and he gave me the answer that for him the c4 falcon 80 is to long for pool. But he didn't write me exactly what kind of c4 he used :hmm
You right Tom use the c4 40. :) I dont know what kind of fins are Panos :duh

regards from Hungary, Balázs

hi

Panos they sound and look like really nice fins, have you got measured the distance you gain by using the carbons compared to plastic fins for dynamic ?

Im pretty sure I read in another thread that mifsud uses C480's well at least he did. I think it was under the thread about his 209m dynamic

cheers

No I haven't measured the "gain" in distance between plastic and carbon fins. I haven't used plastic fins for years now. I don't even have plastic fins anymore. Might be an interesting experiment :)

It wouldn't be right to compare what I was able to do years ago (with plastic fins) with what I can do now (with carbon fins), since many parameters have changed. Training, technique etc. So it's not easy to find the "gain" from using carbon fins, except if I do NOW a max dynamic with plastic fins and another max dynamic with carbon fins. But like I said, I don't have plastic fins anymore.

Ivan

Look at this photo (made on 209m), the fins what you see is not a falcon 80 fins, I'm 100% sure :)

Balázs
