If your dive lights are not used for long time, please take out the batteries out and store them properly. Also, don’t forget to maintain the Li-ion batteries every 2-3 months. According to the Li-ion batteries’ chemical features, the permanent capacity loss is greatest at elevated temperatures with the batteries voltage maintained at 4.2 V (fully charged). You couldn’t store them at fully charged 4.2V.

For maximizing the storage life, it's suggested to store the Li-ion batteries at around 40-60% charge. This range provides a balance between preserving capacity and minimizing self-discharge during storage. Besides, please also store them in a cool, dry place. Because the extreme temperature and high humidity can degrade batteries' performance and lifespan. Ideally store them between 20-25 degrees Celsius, and avoid exposing the batteries to direct sunlight.

For storing your 18650/21700 Li-ion batteries more easily, you can use some smart chargers. Such as xtar VC4SL, VC8 PLUS. There is STORE mode setting. Just put the Li-ion batteries on the slots, choose store mode, then the charger will charge or discharge the batteries to 3.7V automatically. It’s simple to operate, help to maximize the batteries’ lifespan and save energy easily.
