There is an interesting project in Bulgaria that just has been approved, and is about to start. It is a plan to make accessible an ancient Thracian city that is currently submerged in the artificial lake of Koprinca dam. The city of Seuthopolis from 4th century BC was only discovered during the final phase of the dam building in 1954, and archeologists did not even have time enough to make any detailed excavation, moving, or preservation of the site.

This project plans building a round thick concrete wall around the site and drying it then, making it accessible to public.

That’ll be one cool project if it goes ahead.
“Forecasted price 80 – 85 million EUR”
Sounds a lot of money but I'll bet it goes well over budget.
