Maybe your right. At the moment I am to involved with my fishing and spend about 2-3 hours in the water 5 times a week. All the greats say that the best training is in the water anyway.

I have thought about doing a freedive course but out here in Gibraltar the closest course is in Barcelona which is at the other end of Spain.

I have always been wary about these courses as I know I always take things to the extreme and I would be trying to breal Loic's record after my first course.:naughty

But anyway at the moment my training is focussed on being able to fish comfortably at over 30 metres.

hi

I might as well put in my poor depth achievements. Deepest gone with a speargun 70ft. Only timed 2 dives, one was at 10m with total time of 1:30 so probably only 30sec on the bottom. The other one I timed was to 60ft with NO bottom time total dive time was 1:20. Pretty sad :( but I havent been diving for as long as most people here. On a positive side there is always room for me to improve :D

cheers

andrew,
It’s not how deep you go or how long you dive. Its how many fish you bring back!

Actually it’s not even that. Its how much fun you have! That's why we spearfish!
Don

I read an article where Pelizarri was saying when he goes spearfishing with Mazarri, he was staying at the bottom two minutes more than Mazarri(3 timesworld champion spearfishing) but Mazarri was taking much more fishes than him...
Time is not so important, killer instinct is......

hi

Dont worry I spear fish actually lately I have been taking it to seriously my dad has been giving me hell of a competition in who spears the biggest fish of the day, or the most. I usually beat him at the Biggest fish cos I chase pelagics . But he kicks my ass in terms of numbers. And he rubs it in. So I try and show him how deep I can go which is not very deep anyway :D

cheers
