Hi Portland Spearo - I'd be happy to show you a few spots in Sussex...but coming from Dorset I am afraid you are likely to be disappointed (sorry). Vis in 2012 was pretty dreadful...but if you're up for some new underwater scenery (or hue of green depending on how Neptune is feeling), give me a shout.
A dorset spearo wanting to come to sussex??!! Brialliant!! Please come up, you will appreciate what you have down your way so much more!! Maybe we could do a county exchange for the weekend??
Either way, if you do find yourself in sussex wanting a dive, im sure the few of us unlucky souls that dive here regulary will be more than happy to take you out to a few spots.
Ha ha you all are very hospitable! I heard a few good things and always like diving different waters! thanks. went out last week didnt see a thing.. will be diving all year so fingers crossed!!
It would be great to have you come over for a dive - count me in! The only condition is that you don't show us all up by catching lots of monster fish...not sure my self respect could cope ;-)
i'll second that Bobsandsausage!!
most wrecks are quite a way off shore and hard to find, mostly sitting in 25-35m of water and hard to find so personally i wouldnt bother. Thats just my opinion though. most dives are off the beach, off piers etc, as for west sussex i can hardly speak i have no idea, if im venturing that far il carry on down the coast, im from Heathfield so stick to east sussex coast. Have a look on Google maps and you will realise how featureless our coast is, yes we have some amazing cliffs and gullies, but for 99% of the year the water is clouded by the chalk and silt.
Thanks Liam98 very helpful.. like the sound of it. i'll do some homework before I come down..
Greg
I've got one boat spot I want to try close to me - I'll let you know what it's like, hopefully before the end of the year! also Bognor reef might be good with a boat - it's a pretty long way to swim, especially if the tide is strong.
Oh, and if you're from Portland...am I doing the Portland Pose right???
