Suunto D3 in pool

Hi I need a little help getting my newly acquired D3 to work in the pool.
The computer works like a dream in freediving mode in the sea. I was hoping to use it to time my DYN and see how I move along the pool. I also wanted to set time alarms to make sure I change rythm of inning at specific points. But I swam several 50 DYN at the bottom of the pool and when I got back the watch only register about 4 seconds for each DYN attempt.
Should I be using it in a different mode, or is it totally hopeless.

Read the instructions, each computer is set to record at a certain minimum depth, can't remember D3 but its likely 0.6m or something similar so you need to be deeper than that for it to record dive time

You probably registered several dives in the log if you were a bit up and down

Alternatively switch off the diving modes and use the manual stopwatch
