My wife is considering getting a Suunto Vyper Novo after her old Cobra finally succumbed to the well-known depth sensor failure. Unfortunately, Suunto in the EU won't do anything about it, as they weren't required to, unlike in the US following the lawsuit settlement.
Anyway, I have a couple of questions about the Vyper Novo.
Suunto has a demo video on its website, and during the simulated dive the main screen continuously displays the Nitrox percentage. We're not sure whether that's just for demonstration purposes to show they're diving on EAN32, or if that's actually what the computer displays during a real dive.
Underwater, she much rather have the tank pressure displayed at all times than the Nitrox percentage. Does anyone here dive with a Vyper Novo and know what is shown on the main screen (bottom row) by default during a dive when using the wireless transmitter? EANXX or the current tank pressure?
Also, if the transmitter is mounted on a short HP hose rather than directly on the first stage, it will need a flow restrictor to seal properly with the O-rings. If so, should it be the straight version or the one with a bevel in the middle, or doesn't it matter?
Thanks for your help!
