Taking my freediving equipment on a Ryanair flight

I'm going to travel with Ryanair and I was wondering what's the best way to take my freediving equipment with me.
The main problems are the long bi-fins, neck weight and lead weights.
So far, this what I thought:
- Plan A: putting everything in my diving bag (which is big enough for the fins and with the weights and all gear is about 14 Kg) and check it as sports equipment up to 20Kg for £60
- Plan B: get a 15Kg checked-in suitcase for £50, but I'd have to bend the fins and I'm pretty close to the weight limit
Has anyone been through this? What did you do?

I always put everything in one tall backpack where I don't need to bend the fins. Don't bend your fins! I've seen guys bend fins that were never the same after. The fins, not the diver haha.

Seems kinda risky to check in fins with Ryan... butif you can fit them in a sturdy enough suit case, you're probably good.

I have the same issue as Nuno, though not going with Ryanair but SAS and El Al. Was considering just to try get 92 cm bifins aboard carrying them in hand, but they most likely won't allow that - alreaday have small backpack as handluggage. Probably will bite the bullet , put dive gear in extra diving bag, and pay for excess baggage (100$)...
