Hello all!

I am planning a Thailand trip in November/December with a purpose of freediving and maybe spearfishing.

These day I can not go below 20 meters so I am interested in clear water and marine life without going to deep. I will try to use my underwater camera as much as possible

I am at the stage of collectiong info, so if somebody can share some details about the best places to dive as well as accomodations and other useful tips, your response will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Vadim

Vadim,

Do a check on the forum, similar question was raised and aswered some 1 month ago. If you want freediving training/fun, you will find one center located in Koh Tao, a splendid island close to Koh Samui, off the eastcoast. Amazing diving/freediving can be done on the west coast too, with Pukhet being the main base. I havent done freediving on Similan islands, off Pukhet, but it's a fantastic place with good depths for freediving and amazing wildlife.

PS might be there in December too, in Koh Tao to swim with black tips :)

Thanks, I was aware that some precious info is scattered around on this forum, but any extra detail is important! I want to know as much as possible since it is not an easy trip and no time should be wasted.

Thanks again

i will be in Thailand end of December to mid January as well, if anybody looks for a freediving buddy, i'm up for it!

Serge

Well check web page Apnea Total .. Great freediving near Koh Tao island and great people.. You really should check that place

Thanks Semi, i did already contacted Apnea Total and will hopefully dive with them. Koh Tao is great, been there 3 times and i ,keep going back! I am trying to freedive on the West coast too, but no answer from Blue Planet divers which apparently provide freediving trips in Koh Lanta. If anybody know other places in Thailand (west coast) where i can seasight :) with a buddy, it woudl be great to let me know

thanks

Hi! I'm going to freedive to Thailand. I'll stay on Rayan Yai 20.-26.12. and on Koh Lanta 27.12.-2.1. and I'll dive with Blue Planet Divers! So if you Sergiu don't have any plans, come to dive there at that time :) And of course it would be nice to see as many freediviers there as possible!

Well, if i knew a week ago, i would have come. Meanwhile i changed a bit plans and will go only to Koh Tao (and Koh Samui) for all 3 weeks.

If you make it to the east coast, it would be great to meet up. If not, have a great peaceful time down under :)
