Hi

Check out the Similan and Surin Islands of the west coast. You will need to do a liveaboard for these Islands and the same operators aslo can get access to the Burma banks. Most operate from Phukett but there aslo a few operating from a place 90km north of phukett called I think Koh Lak.

If you don't want a liveaboard then go to Koh Tao on the east coast, it is my fave place with over 30 dive sites and over 30 dive operators so competition is hot. A single dive will cost around 900 bht (£15) buy 10 and the price is 550 bht (£9) more and it is negociable. discounts can be had against accomodation and the course prices are great PADI OWD = 7000 bht (£115) , Advanced and rescue is about the same, DM about 19000 bht (£330)

hope this is helpful
