The thinner the better?

I am planing to use a 1'5mm elios suit for CW in waters 25C warm.It is any advantages to use a thinner suit?why everybody uses 3mm also in warm waters?

It seems to me that 3mm is a nice "middle of the road" thickness; it's not too warm for tropical waters (which can get colder the deeper you go), and it's just thick enough for cooler water, such as a quarry (as long as you don't spend TOO much time below the thermocline. In my area, that can get a bit chilly!). Also, in my experience, a 3mm suit is the easiest to weight properly.

If the 1.5 mm suit will keep you warm and it is durable enough for the use you put it to, it will be Much better than a 3 mil suit, less weight, less buoyancy change, much more flexible. Just make sure it is warm enough.
