thick shaft thin rail?

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
I would personally say 7mm spear with double 16mm bands. But if your a bit stuck give these guys an email as they hunt large bass and cod in the uk, but also go to ascension island a few times each year to hunt large groupers tuna sailfish and marlin, so maybe they will advise you on their setups. i'd have to agree with the 7mm shaft with 2x16 rubbers as said above, we use that setup for everything over here in nrth qld so fish species would be very comparitable. 2x16mm rubbers will give you a supprising amount of power even at full range and am yet to have it not penatrate through anything i've shot (big tuskies, cod, gt's, 10-15kg barra etc) have tried using a 6.5mm shaft before but found it very whippy so can be easily overpowered and gets bent a lot easier..
 
Ok thankyou. By the way I bought a new camera today, its a base RD32 and ive made a mount for a dive mask for it, the mount would be applicable to most cameras so if anyone wants to know I can tell them how to mount their camera to their mask.
