Hi,
I did some dry statics yesterday ( i'm not doing them very often)
and i couldn't get even close to what i did 6 months ago.
So i tried some hyperventilation but even then i could not push the start of contractions far enough.( Maybe just a bad day )
Now i read some of the static threads agein and realized 40-60 contr / min is considered to be a "high rate".
When my contractions start they are at around that rate after about 3-4 contractions.
I am only able to withstand about 60 contractions, and thats with any starting time.
So thats a yesterdays 3:40 ( gave up at 40 contractions because the time already sucked)
And it's the same on my dry PB of 5:50 ( hyperv.) and would be the same if i tried now without any breathup starting contractions at about 30-40 seconds.
So if i'm not hyperventilating my best delay was 3min before start of contractions.
The contractions should also be the time where a stronger divereflex kicks in so they should be good for the overall breathold, but beeing at that high rate they simply kill me after a max of around 60 and fighting them is to hard to be effective.
My questions now are :
1. Is it possible to train the body to delay contractions ( not different breathup or hyperv. but a real delay caused by training )
2.Is it possible to get the contraction rate down ?
I can exhale against closed mouth and get the rate down a bit, but that is very exhausting and i don't think that would make my breathhold any longer.
3. Does anyone of you do more than 6 min with contractions starting at 3min at 40-60/ min rate ( avg. 150 contractions ) ? What are your rates ?
4.Is my only real chance of getting better, to train dealing with more than 150 contractions ?( not a really motivating thought)
