Hey out there, greetings to all of you. I just start with my question. We, my wife and me, are going to spend 5 month on Lanzarote and we really like snorkeling and snorkel tours how we call it. As the water is between 19 and 24 degrees C and we always did it without neopren, this is cold, we want to buy the 2nd Skin. But we do not know what to buy. There are a lot of neopren suits on the market. But what is good and suitable for our idea of snorkeling and open water swimming. We need advice. Thank you in advance. Best Tom

I only went to Lanzarote once, in 1993, and I was freezing in my Mediterranean wetsuit.

To limit water entry, I used straps around my neck, wrists, and ankles; it was more comfortable.

You then need at least a 3mm, or even 5mm, full wetsuit if you plan to stay in for more than an hour… and a well-fitting one to prevent water from getting in, ideally with an attached hood.

There's a dangerous current in the south … When I saw my buoy speeding away, I canceled my trip.

Hey thanks for your answer. We have been several times there. We made some snorkeling trips round papagayo beach. We always stayed close to the cliffs and had to warm up at every beach we passed. For longer swimmung trips Purto del Carmen is fine. But of course it is the Atlantic Ocean.

I found the south of Tenerife more interesting than the few eastern bays of Lanzarote for snorkeling.

But for marine life, there are much better places.

I always wear 3mm neoprene socks.
