As to Cozumel (I've been there 18 times):

• While it's pretty common to see nurse sharks on dives (usually laying under ledges), I've only seen reef sharks 2 or 3 times, and any other shark is quite rare. I've seen one or two videos with hammerheads.

• There's no bull shark season in Cozumel -- that would be across the channel over nearer to Playa del Carmen.

• Turtles are not uncommon but I wouldn't say virtually every dive. During eagle ray season the eagle rays are probably more common than turtles.

• The article mentions "typical reefs", and while Cozumel has some reefs you would call typical, and wall dives also, what is notable in Cozumel are the coral pinnacles -- almost like an underwater mountain range of coral structures, with many of these pinnacles having natural swim-throughs -- quite impressive!
