A few months ago Fisheries decided to stop tourists from spearfishing here...to save the reef fishery. great plan....bullshit...anyway, I read a guy came down a couple weeks ago and was taken by guides spearfishing off of Placencia. I hope so. If anyone wants to come down, let me know and we'll go find some of these....I hope. Shot this one Saturday in a cut. I was drifting out with the dropping tide current and just at the mouth of the cut, there she was. The fillets were 10 lbs each...the head 11.

I don't get many cuberas and some people here say they're not that good eating. I have to disagree...I gutted and gilled it within minutes of shooting it and packed the abdomen with ice.
Been eating it the last few days and man, it's really good. Even my boss here, who says he doesn't like snappers, is a convert. He's Indian and made really nice curry soup from the head.

I'm a shrimp farmer. I manage hatcheries and grow out systems. Right now I work for Paradise Shrimp Farms. The owner of this farm owns about 400 KFCs, 200 some Biurger Kings, 200 Pizza Huts....

Hi Hank, I'm coming down at the end of this month and am an avid spearo from Northern California. Can we hook up and get some fish? I'm brining my 32in 2Band AB Biller. It's a little small out there (at least on Ambergris) but it's what I've got and can fit in my suitcase!

Hi Hank49, I am Viktor from Brooklyn, NY. I have more than 30 years experience on free diving/spear fishing including spearing in icy water. I would like to make some spearfishing tours with you in Belize. How could I contact you for details? My email: viktor718@yahoo.com. Thank you.

The best way to get in touch with Hank is through the Speardiver forum.
