Hi all I’ve been a lurker in these forums for many years because I’ve never considered myself a feeediver - just a swimmer. I am completely unfamiliar with all the diving terminology but want to start learning now. I have just started weekly livestream breath holding challenges on my YouTube channel to build up my apnea potential, but I need to do this safely with as much background research as possible. So I’m starting here.
Any links to start reading and studying formally I’d be grateful for.

There's tons of information right here on Deeperblue. In the forums there are a huge variety of threads/topics spanning many years. Look at the "freediving beginners" and "training and techniques" forums.
Also, be careful. Enthusiastic beginners who really don't understand the dangers have gotten into trouble. They really really want to try out new things and push themselves to get better and better - and it has happened that some have blacked out and died while practicing alone. What I am saying is NEVER DIVE ALONE (pool practice IS diving).

Thanks for your guidance , I saw this response pretty quickly but am still having difficulty navigating this forum via the phone. I apologize for my late acknowledgement but intend to follow up with everything you said it’s good advice and I need to figure out the forums in here.

I think it's much easier to navigate deeperblue on a PC.
