Transition pole spear to gun

I have been spearfishing for about a year and a half. i am finishing building my first gun and i would like some tips about using a spear gun. like most people in hawaii i started with my good old 3 prong (pole spear with paralyser tip)
what are the main differences between using a 3 prong and a spear gun? what else should i know?
i hunt reefs 10-35 feet deep

If you can hunt successfully with a pole spear you don't need to know anything The gun is way easier!

i agree with the above statement, I would only add that you might wnat to try some varried stalking techniques now..the major difference i found was that i was a lot mor ecomfortable underwater bc i didn't have to use my hand/grip strength to hold the spear cocked..this allowed me to use different techniques t ostalk and move around on the bottom and opened up some new approaches for me to get next to fish
