Hi everyone,

I am thinking of joining a freediving club to practice during off season. I have been spearfishing for years but this is the first time I will do pool training. What type is best for spearfishing? I was thinking either constant weight or dynamic.

Thanks!
Gabriel

Both.

If you dive competition and around any tide whatsoever, you'll know, diving and holding position ON fish is a nightmare as the tides build.
Swimming a pool length, then taking only 1 to 2 minutes prep to dive, do the dive and then recover when swimming is great training but don't overdo it or push your limits by diving too deep.

As you go, you'll start to be fighting CO2 and lactic acid build-up. In our dives, nothing worse than the tide pushing you off a deep head that has a tide faster than you can hold in.

Point is, dive then a slack tide area and all that training pays off 3 fold.
